Artist Statement
My practice investigates cultural mythmaking. Using still and moving images, sound, testimony, text, and archival materials, I bring a layered and research-based approach to documentary subjects. With iteration, misdirection, and genre confusion, I juxtapose seemingly unrelated elements to illuminate invisible systems, expose assumptions, and reframe the narrative, often employing a case-study model. My books, videos, and installations invite critical inquiry about complex social questions.
